Zoe Saldana, born June 19th, 1978 was the child of Asalia Nazario, along with Aridio Saldana. Her mother and father were both born in Puerto Rico. Her parents raised their daughter in Queens, New York. After she turned 10 years old, older, she and her family relocated into the Dominican Republic, where they would live for the next seven years. As they remained in the country, Zoe discovered a keen passion for performance dancing and began her training at the world-class ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy where she studied ballet as well as different dance styles. While her education did provide an excellent outlet for the enthusiastic and energetic youngster and her family, but it was also proving to be a fortunate precursor for the start of her professional acting career.
